Imperfection is a part of beauty. A crack – an imperfection – gives this bowl its unique character and beauty. The application of heat to this bowl transformed the copper into a warm golden colour with touches of Venetian red. Cracked Copper Bowl has been sealed with carnauba wax. This bowl is intended for decorative use only.
There is a story of a Japanese lord who wanted to impress a local connoisseur of pottery. He purchased a very expensive piece and invited the connoisseur over to see it. The connoisseur was unimpressed. Angered the lord smashed the piece on the ground. One of the lord's servants carefully glued it back together. Some time later the connoisseur again visited the lord. When he saw the repaired piece, he was very excited. He said to the lord, "what an exquisite piece you have found! Bravo!"
